Krishna Anne, CEO at Agile Analog
For this blog post, as the new CEO, I have been asked to share some insights into my background and career in the global semiconductor industry, as well as my plans for driving forward business growth at Agile Analog.
I come from a family of engineers, so pursuing engineering in college after high school felt like a natural progression. During my high school years in the mid-80s, I chose electronics and materials as elective subjects. At the time desktop PCs were starting to appear in school labs across India, giving me firsthand experience of the exciting advancements that Intel was making in processor technology. This sparked my interest and ultimately inspired me to move to the US in the early 1990s to pursue a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in VLSI.
I began my career as a digital circuit designer. Over the last 30 years I have migrated from engineering roles to more business development and management positions for major semiconductor companies, including Rambus, AMD and Broadcom. I am passionate about working with entrepreneurial teams. I have leveraged by experience, network and expertise to help launch and develop innovative ventures in this sector, such as SCI Semiconductor, DataTrails and Secure Thingz.
Now we are on the brink of a new era, with the scope and specialization of chips and electronics expanding at an unprecedented pace. I would encourage aspiring engineers to join the semiconductor industry as it is a rewarding career. My main advice would be to identify a specific market or application that excites you and to dedicate yourself to advancing in that area.
There is no doubt that it has been a challenging few years for the global semiconductor industry. With growing economical and geopolitical uncertainties, as well as a shortage of analog engineers, innovation in analog design has never been more crucial. At Agile Analog, we are addressing this head-on through automation, enabling a new age of analog IP development. Our unique technology, Composa, sets us apart from other analog IP companies. With the power of automation, our team can swiftly deliver IP tailored to precise specifications and process nodes. We aim to become the leading provider of high-value analog subsystem IP and licensable automation tools that enable accelerated IP development.
Agile Analog has an expanding portfolio covering data conversion IP, power management IP, IC monitoring IP, always-on IP and security IP - primarily licensed as individual IP blocks. Going forward, the focus will be on building strategic industry partnerships and delivering integrated sub-system-level IP solutions, offering a one-stop shop for customers. There is strong market demand for our customizable, process-agnostic products.
We have customers across a wide range of verticals and applications, including consumer, enterprise data centers, security, space, and industrial sectors. Analog security IP is an area of particular interest, where we offer differentiated anti-tamper solutions, complementary to other providers of RoT (Root of Trust) and cryptographic engines. Security has become a critical requirement for every SoC being developed today. We see a significant opportunity to deliver value at the subsystem level with our security IP offerings. Another important focus is on our data conversion IP solutions. We are just about to begin work on bringing our ADC to the latest TSMC node for one of our key strategic customers.
2025 has been an exciting year so far for me and Agile Analog. I look forward to meeting more of our partners and customers at industry events across the globe. Keep an eye on our events web page, which is regularly updated, to see where the team will be over the next few months.
